Frequently Asked Questions

How do I RSVP, and when is the deadline?

You can RSVP by filling out the form at the bottom of this page, or by responding to the mailed invitation you received. We ask that you RSVP by July 31, 2026.

What is the dress code?

We want you to wear whatever you feel most comfortable in. For the ceremony, we recommend something semi-formal to formal, but you can definitely wear whatever you'd like.

For the reception, we're going to keep things fun. We are celebrating on Halloween, which is our favorite holiday, so Halloween costumes are welcome and encouraged!

If it's helpful to know, the bride will be wearing a black dress for the ceremony and a white dress for the reception. The groom will be wearing a black barong for the ceremony and a white shirt and pants for the reception.

We're looking forward to seeing you in your favorite attire!

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Both the ceremony and reception will be held indoors. While the main events will be held indoors, Dorchester Brewing Company also features an outdoor open-air roof deck with a view of the Boston skyline. If the weather permits, we will be able to move some of the festivities outside to the roof deck.

Is there parking available at the ceremony and reception?

The ceremony and reception both have plenty of parking available.

For the ceremony: Parking is available on main street in front of the church. There is also parking available in the Hingham town lot, which is just a few minutes walk from the church. To get to the Hingham town lot, you can use this address: 95 Station St, Hingham, MA 02043. Parking is free of charge.

For the reception: Plenty of parking is available at Dorchester Brewing Company, as the lot has been reserved to accommodate our guests.

Is the ceremony and reception wheelchair accessible?

Both facilities are wheelchair accessible and ADA compliant. If you have any questions or need assistance, please feel free to reach out to us at elkapwa@proton.me.

Can I bring a plus one?

Your invitation should indicate this. If you're not sure, please feel free to reach out to us at elkapwa@proton.me.

I have dietary restrictions. Can you accommodate me?

Yes! When you RSVP, there will be a field for you to let us know if you have any dietary restrictions. We will do our best to accommodate you.

What if I am only able to attend the ceremony or reception?

You will be able to indicate in your RSVP whether you will be attending the ceremony, the reception, or both! We understand that having the ceremony and reception in different locations can make it difficult to attend both, so we've made it easy for you to let us know.

Can I bring my kids?

Yes, guests with children should have received an invitation for them as well. Children are welcome to attend the reception, but please note children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

I'm coming from out of town. Where should I stay?

There are several places to stay in the Boston area, we recommend staying within a close distance of the reception venue. Shuttle busses will be provided from Boston to Hingham and back. Home2Suites by Hilton Boston South Bay is about a 10-minute walk or 2-minute drive from the reception venue.

If Boston or this date is out of reach for you right now, that's okay! Please take care of yourselves and your family during these difficult times.

What's the best way to get there if I'm coming from out of town?

If you're coming from out-of-town and flying in, the closest airport is Logan International Airport, which is about 15 minutes away by car from the reception venue.

From the airport, you can take the MBTA Red Line to Boston. The closest station to the reception venue is JFK / UMass. Additionally, Uber and Lyft are available at the airport and in Boston, and rental cars are available at the airport. You can also get to Hingham from Boston by taking the MBTA Red Line to Quincy Center, and then taking the MBTA 220 (Hingham Depot via Shipyard) Bus to North St opp Station St. The church is about a 5 minute walk from the bus stop.

If you're driving in for the day, there is plenty of parking available at both the ceremony and reception venues.

What is "Kapwa" and why is it your new last name?

Kapwa is the foundational concept in Sikolohiyang Pilipino (Filipino Psychology), separating the self from the "I" and merging it with the "other". Kapwa recognizes that no one exists in isolation; it emphasizes empathy, compassion, and shared responsibility.

We wanted to choose a new name that both embodies Filipino heritage and also reflects our identities in a meaningful way.
